Plot twist: The next companion is a normal girl/boy who only dies once in their lifetime and has no remarkable back story but he thinks they’re wonderful because they are human and the Doctor needs reminding that you don’t need to be a mystery to be remarkable.
donna. the thing you’re talking about is donna.
martha jones.
rose tyler.
And then Clara’s just a normal girl who DIED to save her best friend.
That made her a mystery but that doesn’t mean she was born one.

have you ever cried over a character
i don’t mean in the way a lot of people say like “OMG ALL MY FEELS MY CREYS”
no
i mean
have you ever felt such emotion towards a character that you just cried
because you wanted to be with them and help them and make them feel better
because they’ve helped you so much but you can never do the same for them
Sam Winchester, I’m looking at you

I FIGURED IT OUT.
sylargrimm:
John Hurt is not a different Doctor. He is aged Eight. Eight went through the Time War correct? So what if it lasted so long he grew old? This is John Hurt. This is the man who sealed away the Time Lords and ended the Time War. He is the old version of Eight.

Ok yeah I do think that John Hurt is awesome BUT I STILL WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING SO LIKE MATT SMITH ISN’T THE DOCTOR ANYMORE THEN I WASNT EXPECTING THIS
NO SHH OKAY CALM DOWN I THINK I UNDERSTAND:
John Hurt’s “”DOCTOR”” did what he did in his name. The real name. Not the name of the Doctor (or that’s the impression we get)
It’s the name you choose to lead your actions with that matters. 11 IS the Doctor because he so chose to be. John Hurt’s character is whateverbucketnameIhopetheydon’tgivehimarealoneit’dbethatmuchbetter.
EDIT: He may or may not also be the Valeyard. I don’t know. Trust me I’ve got no clue what Moffat’s thinking this is just context clues slapped together to make something that vaguely resembles an idea.
